VEIL is a custom-perforated metal wall and ceiling tile, designed by the customer in our online tool, VEIL Studio. Drawn in minutes, built in days, shipped in weeks — and installed on any standard 600×1200 metric or 2’×4′ imperial grid. This post covers the complete timeline from the first decision in VEIL Studio to the last panel in the ceiling grid — every stage, in order.
Stage 1: DESIGN — minutes
Open VEIL Studio. It runs in any browser. No CAD software. No install. No training.
Set the perforation parameters: frequency, mix, pitch, perforation size, attractors, compression. Pick any RAL from the full K5 range — default is Anthracite Grey 7016 Semi-Matt. Drop in an image if the design brief calls for a graphic perforation. Add aSoft acoustic backing (face or backer) if acoustic performance is required. Add integrated backlighting (2700K–6000K, 25W / 45W / 65W) if the ceiling needs to contribute to the lighting scheme.

Stage 2: BUILD — days
The DXF arrives at the factory. It goes directly to the laser cutter — no redrawing, no intermediate steps. The laser cuts the perforation pattern and panel outline from steel sheet stock to the exact geometry in the file.
Panels are powder-coated to the specified RAL K5 colour. aSoft acoustic backing is applied if specified. Integrated backlighting is built in if specified. Every panel is one-of-one. Every panel in the batch is cut from its own DXF. Built in days.
Stage 3: SHIP — weeks
Crated for transit. The crating protects the powder-coated finish and panel edges during shipping. Panels arrive at site undamaged. Shipped in weeks.
Stage 4: INSTALL — standard
Open the crate on site. Lift panels into the ceiling grid. Drops into any standard 600×1200 metric or 2’×4′ imperial suspended ceiling grid. Standard mounting hardware. No field modifications. No specialist labour. Same installation footprint as NOWN’s Vapor system — familiar to any ceiling contractor who has installed it.
