What is VEIL Studio?
VEIL Studio is NOWN’s browser-based design tool for VEIL custom-perforated metal wall and ceiling tiles. It runs in any modern browser. Nothing to download. Nothing to install. Open the tool, design your panel, export to production — all in one session.
It is not a drawing tool. It is a configurator. You set the parameters; the tool generates the geometry. The output is a production-ready DXF file that goes directly to the laser cutter.
What can you control in VEIL Studio?
VEIL Studio gives you full control over the perforation parameters that define the visual character of your panel. The controls include: frequency (how many perforations per area), mix (the proportion of different hole types), pitch (the spacing between perforations), perforation size (hole diameter), attractors (anchor points that pull the pattern), and compression (how the pattern density shifts across the panel).
In addition to parameter-based design, you can drop in any image — a photograph, a brand mark, a graphic — and VEIL Studio interprets it as a perforation map. The darker areas become denser perforations; lighter areas become sparser. The result is a panel that reads as an image when viewed from a distance.
Colour is picked from the full RAL K5 range. The default finish is Anthracite Grey 7016 Semi-Matt. Every other RAL is available.
What does the output look like?
VEIL Studio generates two outputs in a single click: a production-ready DXF file and a quote. The DXF is the file that goes to the laser cutter — no redrawing, no intermediate steps, no revision rounds with the factory. The quote reflects your exact specification. Both arrive simultaneously.
